Richard Glenn Lockey July 19, 1942-December 25, 2022 Richard Glenn Lockey, following an extended illness, passed away in his home on December 25, 2022. Richard is preceded in death by his son, Stephen Monroe Lockey; infant son, Michael David Lockey; and infant grandson, Stephen Miles Lockey. He is survived by his daughter, Alison Lockey Nelson; and grandsons, Logan Nelson and Stephen Cade Lockey. Richard is also survived by his former wife, Carolyn Lockey. Richard was born in Laurenburg, North Carolina, on July 19, 1942.  He graduated from Southern Pines High School in 1960.  He joined the United States Navy and served his country for over 20 years, retiring with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. During his time in the Navy, he earned an Associates Degree from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. After retiring from the US Navy, Richard earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Gadsden State Community College.  He also worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1996.  He was a member of Southside United Methodist Church. The family thanks Enhabit Hospice for their comfort and care during Richard's illness.
