May 5, 1933 – December 14, 2020
RAYFORD KENNETH PEARMAN, 87 of Gadsden passed away from this earth to Heaven on December 14, 2020 at Hospice of West Alabama.
He was born May 5, 1933 in Etowah County to Arrie Viola Clevenger Pearman and Alonzo Marvin Pearman. He served his country in the Navy with a tour of the Pacific and also became a MP. After moving to Tuscaloosa he returned to Gadsden and worked for the City of Gadsden until his retirement. He was a faithful member of the Brierwood Baptist Church.
He loved his family and friends, enjoyed flower gardening and animals. He once trained a wild squirrel to be a pet and loved to feed the birds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Arrie and A.M. Pearman; Brother, A.M. Pearman, Jr. Sisters; Mildred Temple, Viola Pruitt, and Lois Wood.
Survived by: Children, Cindy Davis (Steve), Wanda Sywak (Alex) and Alan Pearman. Sister, Ilene Pentecost as well as 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren (and two on the way); and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved.
A special thanks to Lynn Pruitt (niece) who was faithful to bring him meals every weekend. He looked forward to seeing her face every Saturday and Floyd Temple (nephew) who would check on him regularly and the one he could call on if he needed anything. Also to Manna who delivered meals weekly and made sure he was not in need.
Service will be Friday, December 18, 2020 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel. Visitation at 11:00 am with service at 12:00 noon, and graveside to follow. Bro. Billy Hunt, pastor and Steve Davis, son-in-law will officiate.
