Funeral services for Mr Ralph Sims, Sr. of Piedmont, who passed away peacefully at home Thursday, August 31st, will be Tuesday, September 5th, at 2 pm at Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Ryan Morris officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. He was lifelong resident of Gadsden, was a member of Hokes Bluff Baptist Church and retired from Ala Power Co. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Winnie Sims, Wife Merle Sims, sisters Quint Eubanks and Eloise Alford. He is survived by son Ralph (Liz) Sims Jr, daughter Diane (Steve) DeBell, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, siblings Phyllis Pike, Helen Rutledge, Dene (Glenn) Gowens, Aaron (Gail) Sims, Jerome (Diane) Sims and other relatives. Special thanks to First Baptist Homebound visitors, the members of Street Sunday School Class and the many who cared for him during his illness. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1pm until the time of service.
