Ralph T. Campbell
The graveside service for Mr. Ralph Thomas Campbell, 94, will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. Mr. Campbell was born March 5, 1926, in Altoona, AL to Charlie and Opal Campbell. He was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army and fought during WWII in the Philippines. He worked and retired from Republic Steel in Gadsden after 42 years. He served in many positions at City Church in Rainbow City.
Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his wives Frances Poovey Campbell and Marigem Campbell; special aunt and uncle Willie and Eudell Ray; steps-sons Billy Ray Hill and Ronnie Hill, and Rod E. Poovey; grandson Tony Hill; and sister Arlene (John) Gardner.
He is survived by daughter Dianne Cain and step-daughter Jennie Poovey Dobson (Mike); 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Dobson, Dane Moore, PJ Holley, Cole Holley, Grant Holley, and Rinaldus Scicluna. Honorary pallbearers are his Hardee's breakfast gang.
Special thanks for Oak Landing (Jerry Tinsley) Assisted Living staff and the Amedisys Hospice team. There will be no visitation, only graveside service which is open to all his friends and family.
