Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery for Mrs. Prudie J. Kearley, age 84, who passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2009. Rev. David Chandler will officiate. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Kearley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she will be greatly missed. She was born in Marshall County and grew up in Horton. She was a long time member of North Gadsden Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Douglas High School and worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company during World War II. She and Red owned and operated Kearley's Garage in East Gadsden.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Carl (Red) Kearley; parents, Hubert and Elizabeth Glassco; sisters, Faye Whisenant, Mina Winfrey and Nila Pierce.
She is survived by her children, Alvin (Kelly) Kearley, of McCalla, Sandra (Ray) Miller, of Gadsden and Greg (Rose Ann) Kearley, of Birmingham; grandchildren, Allison Kearley, Chris Miller, Sean Kearley, Brian Kearley and Melissia Kearley.
In-Lieu-of-flowers, memorials may be made to North Gadsden Baptist Church, 339 Ewing Avenue, Gadsden, AL. 35901.
Pallbearers will be Chris Miller, Sean Kearley, Tony Miller, Mark Thrift, Mike Daves and Freddy Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Green, Wayne Killian, Ron Mayes, Marcus Thrift and staff from Gadsden Health Care.
