Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Crestwood Chapel for Phyllis Yates, 54, Gadsden, who died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012. The Revs. Buddy O'Bryant and Alton Rosier will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct service. Phyllis was a longtime member of Central Avenue Baptist Church. She attended Snellgrove Civitan Center. She enjoyed the many activities with Gadsden City Therapeutic, such as dancing, bowling, movies, etc. She was truly loved and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Wynell Yates. She is survived by her sister, Gina (David) Chastain; and brother, Eddie Yates; special niece, Lesli (Jon) Wade; and niece, Ella; chosen brother and sister, Chuck and Vicki Barton; and special someone, Ronnie Parrish. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Special thanks to HealthSouth Rehab for being there when we needed them.
