Obituary

Funeral service will be at 1pm Friday November 18, 2022 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Phyllis Landers Hill, age 92, of Hokes Bluff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11am until the hour of service. Rev. Eddie Gooch will officiate. Burial will follow at Young's Chapel Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.

Mrs. Hill passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, and was reunited with her husband of 64 years, Andy "Buddy" Hill, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Hill was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a graduate of Hokes Bluff High School and a former Eagle cheerleader. She was a member of New Bethel Congregational Methodist Church. Mrs. Hill was active in her community as a member of Seniors and Friends of Hokes Bluff and the Energizers Alabama Power Retirees' Organization. She was dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker who did beautiful needlework, flower and vegetable gardening, and cooking. She will be remembered by many for her wonderful cooking and for always having enough prepared so no one would leave her home without being full. She also delighted sharing the bounty of her vegetable garden with friends and neighbors.

She is survived by her sons Lenn (Debbie) Hill, Lane (Shirley) Hill, Lee Hill, and Phil (Vickie) Hill; grandchildren Cary Hill, Brent Hill, Rusty (Jennifer) Hill, Andrea (Matt) Tyson, Braydon Hill, Scotty (Rena) Dyer, and Adam Dyer; great grandchildren Izzy Hill, Rylee Hill, Cade Hill, Knox Tyson, Brock Tyson, Bodie Tyson, Jared Dyer, Jason Dyer, J.D. Dyer, and Taylor Hegenheiser; sister Joyce (Gene) Gossett; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Cary Hill, Brent Hill, Rusty Hill,  Braydon Hill, Matt Landers, and Daniel Gossett.

Honorary Pallbearers are Scotty Dyer and Adam Dyer.

The family would like to express their appreciation the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice, and her caregivers Martha Reeves, Debbie Blackerby, and Tina Amberson.
