F uneral services will be,1 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Crestwood Chapel, for Mr. Phillip "Rodney" Mobley, age 82, of Hokes Bluff who passed away Saturday February 11, 2023. David Holmes will officiate.Masonic rite will be celebrated. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.
Rodney was born in Etowah County. He was a graduate of Glencoe High School. He retired from Gulf States Steel; Rigger Shop. He was a Mason and member of The Glencoe Lodge.He loved his family with all his heart. He was a very caring man and would help anyone he could. He was a prankster and loved to aggravate, and was a big Alabama football fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Helen Mobley, and brother Dennis "Roy" Mobley.
He is survived by daughters Cassy (Aubrey) Bankston, Regina (Tony) Hicks; grandchildren Kristi (Timothy) Roop, Dillion Hicks, and Haylee Hicks three great grandsons Tipton, Hudson, and Colson Roop. Sisters Willodeene Howard, Karen Harden, brothers Gary (Cathy) Mobley, Donald (Rosemary) Mobley,his special nephew and chosen son Shane (Angela)Stephens, special nieces Mindy (Eli) Alverson, Rhonda (Amos) Hill and numerous nieces, cousins and an Aunt.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, in Memory of Rodney. Special thanks to Hokes Bluff Paramedics, A1 Ambulance service and all the nurses at Gadsden Regional Hospital.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 am until the time of service.
