Graveside funeral for Mrs. Peggy Page Gilbert, 84, of Gadsden, will be held Friday at Crestwood Cemetery. Rev. Roger Graham will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Gilbert was born in Defuniak Springs, Fla. She was a graduate of Walton High School, Defuniak Springs, and Florida State University, Tallahassee. She taught school in Florida and Alabama, retiring in 1992 after 22 years at General Forrest Middle School, Gadsden.
She was preceded in death by husband, John Rudolph Gilbert; and parents, John Baxter and Etha Melvina Polson Page; brother, William Polson Page; sisters, Betty Ann Page Rainer and Sarah Frances Page Ruryt.
She is survived by one son, John Page Gilbert; daughters, Pamela Rene Gilbert and Patrice Ann Hall; four grandchildren, Garret Hall, Grant, Abby and Trent Gilbert; also surviving is Boots Eckert, a very special friend since childhood.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Gilbert requests donations be made to Eagle Rock Ranch or the charity of your choice .
Mrs. Gilbert wishes to thank her kind and loving friends and neighbors. They have all been so thoughtful in many ways. May God bless each of you.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
