Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 18th, 2015, at Crestwood Cemetery for Peggy Claudene Sommers, 80, of Marianna, FL, who died Tuesday, July 14th. Rev. Dale Butler will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Sommers was born in Etowah County, and was a former resident of Coates Bend. She has lived in Marianna, FL for the past 37 years.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Jay (Bill) Sommers; son, Danny (Lou Ann) Carr; daughters, Nila (Vance) Jammes, Teena (Mario) Enriquez, Wanita (Carroll) Sapp, Lotus Paige; sister, Betty Hammett; brother, Tommie L. (Peggy) Carr; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and special niece and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Rowe, Donnie Hale, Buzzy Usry, Olin Tumlin, Tommie Ray Carr, and Tyler Carr.
Ronnie Hammett will serve as honorary pallbearer.
A special note of thanks to the nurses and staff of Chipola Health and Rehabilitation Center and Covenant Hospice. The loving care the family received is greatly appreciated.
Family will receive friends for visitation from 5:30-7:30 PM on Friday at Crestwood Funeral Home.
