A private service will be held for Mr. Paul David Eaves, age 73, of Brooklyn, New York (formerly of Gadsden), who passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
David was born in Selma, AL. on September 8, 1935. He was a graduate of Gadsden High School Class of 1954. He served in the United States Air Force, being stationed in England and later moved to Brooklyn Heights, New York in 1960, where he has resided since. When David moved to Brooklyn Heights, New York, he went to work for an insurance company. David was an artist and loved painting, sculpting and hand crafts and would often display his work at street markets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burt and Polly Eaves; and his sister, Carolyn Eaves Berry.
He is survived by a brother-in-law, Buddy Berry, of Southside, AL.; nephews, Lane (Lee) Berry, of Grant, AL. and Jeff (Ava) Berry, of Hokes Bluff, AL.; niece, Leslie (Joey) Colegrove, of Glencoe, AL.; great nephews, Jeremy and Cameron Colegrove; great nieces, Kali and Rachel Berry.
