Norma "Carolyn" Christian, age 76, of Gadsden passed away 12/15/25. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. Visitation will be from 10-12PM on Friday 12/19/25 with a graveside funeral service following. Pastor to officiate. Carolyn was born in Sylacauga, lived in Anniston until she was 12 and then moved to Gadsden. She graduated from Gadsden High Class of 1967. She was in the Tiger Marching Band. Carolyn was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated her life to the nursing profession. She genuinely loved helping those who were sick and in need. She always went above and beyond what was expected of her. Carolyn was one of the last remaining nurses who trained in under the Catholic nuns at the Holy Name of Jesus Hospital , graduating in 1972. She obtained a BSN from Jacksonville State in 1980. She was an ER nurse at GRMC for decades. She went on to obtain a double masters degree from UAH as a Nurse Practitioner in 2002. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents,Marshall Manley (Lucille) Beaird, brother Wayne Beaird, Aunt Norma Kile, Aunt Jackie Morgan, Aunt Claudia Gordon, Ronald Isbell, & many other cherished family members. She is survived by her son Chris (Lindy) Christian, daughter Carolyn Christian Jackson, cousin Henrietta(Ronald)Isbell, sister Kathlyn(Ray)Moon, Grandchildren Zoe(Alex)Jones, Christian(Madison)Gault,Mersades Gault, Seth Hamer, Nephews Kile(Julie)Isbell, Eric(Jennifer) Johnson, Stephen(Kristin)Johnson, several great nieces & nephews, Special family friends Anita & Michael McCarver. Special lifelong friend Cass Songer Benitez. Pallbearers will be Chris Christian, Michael McCarver, Christian Gault, Seth Hamer, Luke Moon & Alex Jones. Honorary Pallbearers Kile Isbell, Eric Johnson, & Steven Johnson. The family would like to extend special thanks to all of the staff members of Compassus Home Health & Hospice; Home health nurse Kaylynn, Home infusion nurse Shenita, Brookwood infusion nurse Barbara, Nurse Practitioner Leah Graves, Quanah Kitchens, & family friend Mitchell Clem.
