Funeral service will be at 3 PM Wednesday, November 3, at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Laurene Woodall Lyda, age 97 of East Gadsden, who died Sunday October 31, 2010. Rev. Alton Parris and Rev. Alex Beaube will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mrs. Lyda was the oldest member of East Gadsden United Methodist Church, a member of the Wesleyan/Fellowship Sunday School Class, and the JOY Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James K. Lyda.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Lyda (Bill) Rosich and Janice Lyda (Bob) Rivers; grandchildren, William C. Rosich, Paola, KS; James E. Rosich, Marietta, GA; Jennifer Rivers Young, Tupelo, MS; Rebecca Rosich Anderton, Cantonment, FL; Lesley Rivers Webb, Charlotte, NC; and Rosalee Rosich Groover, Virginia Beach, VA; thirteen great grandchildren; brother, Charles F. Woodall, Gadsden, AL; brother-in-law, Larry Lyda, Birmingham, AL; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Gadsden United Methodist Church, Big Oak Boys Ranch, and Hannah Home.
Pallbearers will be Bill Rosich, Bob Rivers, Bill C. Rosich, James Rosich, Trace Young, Brian Anderton, Scott Webb, Shane Groover, and Jack Woodall.
Honorary Pallbearers will be member of East Gadsden United Methodist Church.
Special thanks are extended from the family to 9th floor Gadsden Regional Hospital, Alacare Hospice, Dr. Sandra Carpenter, and caregivers.
