Obituary

Nila Jean Burttram, of Glencoe, passed away on June 15th, 2024. Funeral service will be at Glencoe Church of Christ on June 18th, 2024, with visitation starting 11-1 with service following. Brooks Boyd will officiate the service. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery following.

Jean was born in Hokes Bluff, Al on December 29th, 1939. She graduated Hokes Bluff High School in 1958. She married C.W. Burttram on October 4th, 1958. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana. She had a special love for her grandchildren as they did for her. She was a member of Glencoe Church of Christ and worked fifteen plus years as a Cradle Roll teacher. She touched many lives through her service to Christ. Jean was a caring and loving person who loved taking care of others. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, reading, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ida and Gordon Marbut, sister Polly Ellen; brothers easel, Harold, Mutt, and Wayne Marbut.

She is survived by her husband C.W. Burttram; twin sister Joan Mordecai; daughters Beth Cameron (Jeff), Angie Freeman, Cassie Blevins (Michael); grandchildren Daniel Cameron (Claire), Laura Brooks, Emily Freeman, Caleb Freeman, Carly Blevins; great grandchildren Mary, Lucy Brooks and their father Jonathan Brooks.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Cameron, Michael Blevins, Caleb Freeman, Daniel Cameron, Greg Cleghorn, Mark Hooie.
