Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Jean Benefield, 79, of Helena, formerly of Glencoe, who died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014. The Rev. William Benefield will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Benefield was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Glencoe, loved camping and was a member of National Campers and Hikers Association. She was a hair dresser, owning her own shop in her later years. She was a talented seamstress, cook, loving wife, mother, grandmother affectionately known as Moma Jean, friend to all and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dura Seay; five brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her childhood sweetheart, Charley, whom she married at the age of 16 and shared over 63 years together; daughters, Carla (Barry) Stone and LeighAnna (Justin) Simmons; grandchildren, Carley Crowe, Bo Simmons and Kallie Simmons.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1 until the time of service.
