Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 17th, 2014 at Crestwood Funeral Home for Nettie Jester Jones, age 85, address 4971 Rainbow Dr., Rainbow City, who died August 14th, 2014. Bobby Joe Winningham will officiate. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Nettie Jester Jones, born October 23rd, 1928, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved working in her yard and garden.
She was preceded in death by husbands Travis Jester and William Edward Jones; brothers G.R., Alvin and Bert Whisenant; and sister Katherine Bowling.
She is survived by her son Henry Max Jester and wife Kathleen; granddaughter Heather Burgess and husband Tony; and grandson David Jester. Other surviving relatives are sister-in-law Irene Peterson and nieces and nephews. Nettie was a school bus driver for Etowah County for 10 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McEntyre Baptist Church, 13988 Greensport Rd., Ashville, AL 35953.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Whisenant, Gary Bolton, J.D. Robinson, Lonnie Jones, Johnnie Jones, and Donald Sumner.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Rogers, Tommy Mintz, James Simpson, and George W. Kemp, Sr.
Heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the Bolton Home: Diane, Cindy, Nikki, Molly and Nicole for their excellent care of Mama Nettie for the last eight and a half years.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. the day of the service.
