In Loving Memory of Ms. Nell Phillips

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Crestwood Chapel for Ms. Nell Phillips, age 74, of Gadsden, who passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Nell will be lovingly remembered for her deep affection for family, her passion for gardening, and her delight in watching hummingbirds' flit about—simple pleasures that brought her immense joy. She eagerly anticipated the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Willow, who is on the way. Her furry companion, Buddy, brought her great happiness throughout her life. Family was everything to Nell; her children and grandchildren were her world. She was cherished and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Smith, Doris Plott, Lester Plott; her brother, Joe Jr.; her brother, Jerry W. Smith; her granddaughter, Krista; and her great-grandson, Jacob.

She is survived by her loving children: Lisa (Danny) Watts, Jody Johnson Ray Smith, Steven (Lorrie) Sawyer grandchildren, Josh (Maranda) Varnon, Tiffani Wright, Haley Johnson, Joseph Johnson Jr., Ashton Smith, Johnathon Smith, Gabe Sawyer, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Nell's legacy of love and joy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
