Funeral will be at 2pm Sunday at North Gadsden First Congregational Methodist Church for Neal M. Fobbus, age 82, Gadsden, who died August 12, 2011. Revs. Gary Baswell and Butch Suddath will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct service.
Mr. Fobbus was a charter member of North Gadsden First Congregational Methodist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was retired from Gadsden Fire Department, and was also the founder of Fobbus Heating and Cooling. He was a veteran of the the Korean Conflict serving in the 151st Division of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Byron and Pellie Fobbus.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sue Fobbus; Children LaGala and Larry Mynatt of Leesburg, Bill and Cissie Fobbus of Gadsden, and Kathy and Rusty Jones of Decatur; sister Bobbie Williams of Southside; grandchildren Mark Taylor, Bren Taylor, Lindsey and Dustin Teat, Kevin Fobbus, Dalton Gregory, Colt Gregory, Ben and Leigh Jones, and Matthew Jones; great greandchildren London Taylor, and Tucker and Charleigh Teat; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to FCM Mission Fund at North Gadsden FCM Church, 102 Vanderbilt Ave., Gadsden, AL 35901.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
