Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Nancy Freeman, age 82, of East Gadsden, who died on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Rev. Bill Harbison will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Freeman was born August 29, 1927 in Scott County, Mississippi. She was a resident of Gadsden most of her life. She was a graduate of East Central Junior College, in Decatur, Mississippi. She was a registered Lab Technologist, working in the medical field her entire career and had retired from working with the late Dr. H.A. Campbell. Mrs. Freeman was a member of the East Gadsden Baptist Church for 59 years. She was a precious loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Freeman; her parents; a brother; and a sister.
She is survived by her children, Adonna (Jimmy) Hunter and Jimmy (Karen) Freeman; grandchildren, Jim (Lisa) Hunter, Jr., Chrissy Hunter (Jimmy Hathaway) and Jai Freeman; great grandchild, Lauryn Hathaway; four sisters; one brother; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Angels at Meadowood Retirement Village and the staff of New Beacon Hospice for their love and special care.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.
