Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church for Nancy L. Cardwell, 68, Gadsden, who died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013. The Revs. Daniel Barkley and Wade Acton will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct services.
Mrs. Cardwell loved NASCAR, Atlanta Braves and Auburn football. Anyone who knew our Momma knew that her favorite color was purple.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.R. and Grace Cardwell.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Larry) Peppers; sons, Glenn Murphy and Sean Murphy; her granddaughter and the light of her life, Katie Estes (J.T. Hartman); brother, Jim (Carolyn) Cardwell; aunt, Louise M. Bridges; chosen granddaughter, Paige (BJ) Gossett; chosen great-grandchildren, Cali and Bradley Gossett; special cousin, Jean Landgraf, Texarkana, Texas; special friends, Gail Gorham and Olene Bishop; and many other friends and family.
The family will accept flowers, or memorials may be made to Gadsden Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2055, Gadsden, AL 35903.
Pallbearers will be Larry Peppers, Joe Edge, David Gorham, Mike Sims, Tony Elrod and Sid Moyer.
Honorary pallbearers are the Elders and members of Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
