Obituary for Myrtice Lumpkin

Myrtice Inez Lumpkin (Mcnair) passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 86 years old. Funeral services will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home on Friday, January 31 at 11:00 with burial to follow at 1:00 at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral will direct service. Myrtice Inez Lumpkin was born on January 7, 1939 and lived most of her life in Glencoe, Alabama. She was a devoted wife for over fifty years to her husband, Courtney "Foots" Lumpkin. She was a loving mother to five, grandmother to ten, and great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated employee of Belk Department Store for 27 years before her retirement. Myrtice enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and was always ready for a trip to the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama. She will be remembered for her loving spirit and devotion to her family. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Courtney "Foots" Lumpkin; and son Barry Lumpkin.

She is survived by her sons Courtney Lumpkin (Diane), Ray Lumpkin (Tracy), and Mike Lumpkin (Becky); daughter, Debbie Echols (Clyde); sister, Pat Nipper (Jack);  nieces, Jamie Keenum, Jaqueline Nipper, and Jennifer Scott; grandchildren, Cassie Newcomb (Lloyd), Katie Dunn (James), Aaron Echols (Hannah), Trey Lumpkin (Tiffany),  Brittany Lumpkin, Taylor Lumpkin, Hannah Lumpkin, Bree Lumpkin, Sam Lumpkin, and a host of great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ray Lumpkin, Mike Lumpkin, Courtney Lumpkin, Taylor Lumpkin, Clyde Echols, and James Dunn.
