Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crestwood Chapel for Muriel Minton, 81, Southside, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011. The Rev. Bill Drummond and the Rev. Lauil Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services. Mrs. Minton was a Goodyear retiree after 29 years of service. She was a proud Emma Sansom High School graduate and a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Inez Payton. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Higy Minton; daughters, Donna Y. Hammond and Sharon (Sid) McCarver; grandchildren, Sandra Tidmore and Nichole McCarver; great-grandchild, Reagan Tidmore; sister, Louise Davidson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Brenda Nunn, Sandra Kelly and the staff of Almost Like home Assisted Living. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 until 7.
