Mona Morgan Dempsey, 72, of Hokes Bluff, AL, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 12, 1953, in Griffin, GA.

A devout Christian who was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She loved her church family and truly enjoyed playing the organ, and singing in the church choir  Mona was a beloved wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a nursing degree and dedicated 43 years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Mona had a deep love for Christmas, angels, reading, and crafting. She was a kind-hearted soul whose devotion to others was evident in every aspect of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Aubrey and Ruby Morgan, as well as her brothers, Larry and Joel Morgan.

Mona is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ken Dempsey; her children, Andrea (Brandon) Rainey and Brandon (Angie) Dempsey; her grandchildren, Austin and Dylan Rainey, and Cole Dempsey; her brothers, Jerome (Jane) Morgan and Warren (Michele) Morgan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home and Cemetery on Monday, February 17, 2025, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM and the service at 1:00 PM. Reverends Anthony Copeland and Eddie Gooch will officiate.
