Graveside service will be held at 11AM Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery for Mildred "Prissy" Byrd Stephens, age 87, of Gadsden who died Thursday February 18, 2010.Rev. Robert Overstreet will officiate. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mildred was a woman of many talents having worked at everything from the Steel Plant to insurance sales. She was an expert seamstress and had a great love for her family and her doll collection.
Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by husband, Tom H. Stephens, Parents William and Etta Byrd, and sisters Opal McDaris and Evelyn Byrd.
She is survived by her brother William (Betty) Byrd and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be friends and relatives.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial to your favorite charity.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff and management of Oak Landing Assisted living, where she had spent the last four years of her life.
