Funeral services will be at noon Saturday April 12,2014 at Crestwood Chapel for Mildred Monteen Martin, of Gadsden, who passed away April 8, 2014. Bert Cothran will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home is in Charge.
Mildred Monteen Martin was born July 27, 1943. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a former Co-owner of Big Chief Drive-In . Mama loved all children. She was happiest when she was able to be in her kitchen cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward "Ed" Martin, Father , Robert Harley Helms; Mother, Lillian Helms; Brothers, Clarence Helms and Jerry Helms, and sisters, Fraulein Logan and Reba DeBorde.
She is survived by sons, Ron (Pat) Martin of Dumfries,Va. And Jeff (Belinda) Martin of Glencoe, Al.; Daughters, Joan (Kenny) Roach of Leesburg, Al., Kim Martin of Gadsden, Al.; grandchildren, Stephanie McGatha of Centre, Stacy Roach of Centre, Tyler Martin of Jacksonville, NC, Taylor (Marcus) Riddick of Woodbridge,Va, Dade (Carlie) Johns, Lucas Johns and Kaela Johns of Glencoe; great grandchildren, Sierra and Anna Gossett and Adilyn Johns.; sister Evelyn (Donald) Gramling; sister in law, Faye Helms; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Dade Johns, Lucas Johns, Mason Cothran, Mike McKenzie, Mike Kirby, Greg Fails, Chuck Limbaugh, and Tom Hancock.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tyler Martin, Kenny Roach, Rohit Patel, Dr. Jeremy Goodwin and staff, Dr. Odeane Conner and Staff, Dr. Lucian Newman III, and Cornerstone Pharmacy.
The the Staff at family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 6 until 8pm Friday.
