Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mildred Enola Taylor Elliott, age 91, who died Sunday November 15, 2009. Rev. Charles Beshears will officiate. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct with burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Etowah County, Mrs. Elliott was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church for more than 70 years, joining the church October 2, 1938. She was very active with the church teaching sunbeams and Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union for many years. She was a devoted gardener, a wonderful cook, and loved Braves baseball. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Oscar Carl Elliott; Parents, Rev. and Mrs. James R. E. Taylor; Sisters, Ruth Helen Taylor and Josephine Corley; Brother, Clifton Taylor, all from the Black Creek Community; Brother In Laws Rev. Ralph Bone , Florence, Poss Corley and Grady Massey, Collinsville.
She is survived by her three sons, James Ormond (Mary) Elliott, Carl Gary Elliott, and Sidney Keith (Marye) Elliott; Five Grandchildren, Keith Michael (Lisa) Elliott, Birmingham; Kelly Gail (Brian) Wills, Atlanta; Pollyanna Kay Elliott, Gadsden; Dillon Taylor Elliott, Birmingham; and Claudia Fraysher Elliott, Tuscaloosa; four Great Grandchildren, Jessica Brooke and Kaitlyn Nicolle Elliott, Birmingham; Alexander Wesley and Addison Mackenzie Wills, Atlanta; Sisters, Ellawean Massey, Collinsville; Bonnie Bates, Florence; Special Cousin Lucille Sims, Gadsden; Special Friends, Carol, Debbie, Janice, and Robin; and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ormond Elliott, Carl Gray Elliott, Sid Elliott, Keith Elliott, Dillon Elliott, Tommy Lewis, and Brian Wills.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Jeremy Goodwin, Mike Gladden, and Members of Bellevue Baptist Church.
In Lieu of flowers Enola requested that Donation be made to the Bellevue Baptist Church Building Fund or to your favorite charity.
