Mildred Brewster Adcock
February 16, 1920 - November 8, 2013
There is rejoicing in heaven at the homecoming of Mildred Adcock, a godly woman who raised a beautiful family while touching the lives of thousands of others. Her care, devotion, and love for her family never waivered during her 93 years of life. Her faith in God was a shining example of Christianity to all who met her. She will be greatly missed by so many!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Howard L. Adcock, and son Rev. J.L. (Ruth) Adcock. Mildred is survived by two sisters: Ruth Brewster Odom, El Dorado, AR; June Calvert, Gadsden, AL: daughters: Mavis (Joe) Crews, Weaver, AL; Myra Maddox, Gadsden, AL; Faye Thurman, Gadsden, AL; Sons: Edward Adcock, Pinson, AL; David (Diane) Adcock, Gadsden, AL; Richard Adcock, Gadsden, AL; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 16 great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted by Reverends David Adcock (son) and Jeff Crews (grandson).on Sunday, November 10th, at 2pm at Crestwood Chapel. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 - 8pm on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Crestwood. .
Special thanks to the Doctors, nurses, management and staff at Northside Healthcare and Rehab for their care for Mother during her last days. A very special thank you to her son, Richard L. Adcock and granddaughter, Diana (Adcock) Jones for their continual care, concern, and ministry during the last few years of Mom's (Grandma's) life.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
