Michael was a member of the Hokes Bluff High School Class of 1965, where he lettered in several sports including basketball, and track. In his early career he worked in the automotive tire industry first installing and repairing tires and later as a regional salesman for Ira Phillips Tire Company. Even after his retirement, he continued to work with guns at Quality Guns in Attalla, Alabama. He loved hunting deer and the camaraderie of his dearest friends as they hunted together. Some of his happiest times were spent traveling through the American West on a motorcycle with his wife, Anne, and their best friends James and Laura Condra. Michael was a quiet man who loved his family and friends fiercely.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Anne Weston Morris, his parents Louise Cole Morris and Thomas Aaron Morris, his sister Glenda Morris Palardy, and his dear friend James Condra.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn Ashley (Todd) Rains, grandchildren Addison Blair Rains and Carter Ellison Rains, niece Romese Burns (Lane) Ford, nephew James Aaron (Rita) Burns, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, and his dear friends the Condra Family and the Chaviers Family.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice, and most especially Penny Johnson, for their gracious care.
