Funeral service will be at 3pm Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Rainbow Church of Christ for Michael Reed Bowdoin, age 76, who passed away on Friday June 16, 2023. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery and services will be under the direction of Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.

Michael was a veteran, having served with the US Air Force for six years. He was a graduate of Jacksonville State University. He was a member of Rainbow Church of Christ and served as an elder for 12 years. He had retired as an executive director of the Boys Scouts of America and also was an executive director of Lads to Leaders. Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather that loved serving his Lord, country, and community.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Brown; brother in law Col. Robin Byrom; and his parents Arthur and Mary Frances Bowdoin.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rita Bowdoin; children Jamie (Thomas) Brown and Brad (Lisa) Bowdoin; grandchildren Joseph Thomas Brown IV, Jacob Michael Brown, Ben Ellis Bowdoin, and Anna Marie Bowdoin; sister Rosemary Byrom; and several brothers and sisters in law; many nieces , nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Pallbearers will be Alex Rogers, Phil Storey, John Rogers, Don Williams, Stanley Rogers, and David Rogers.
