Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Merle "Max" Maxhimer, age 82, of Fort Payne, who died Saturday. June 2 ^nd . Pastor Donny Hilyer will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

Max was a proud Air Force Retiree, Pilot and Vietnam Veteran. He then worked for The United Postal service for over 10 years. He was a dedicated family man, loving husband, father , grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by wife Thelma "Susie" Maxhimer and parents Merle and Susanna Maxhimer.

He is survived by son Merle B. Maxhimer, daughters Dawn Maxhimer Gillam, Paula and her husband Steve Sweeting ,granddaughters, Shella Maxhimer, Daisy and Melody Gillam, brothers Paul and Gary Maxhimer and sister Pam Potts and a large extended family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 until 8 pm.
