Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Crestwood Chapel for Mrs. Mavis Morgan, 87, who died Friday, Dec. 5, 2014. Bro. Tommy Ferguson and Joe Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Morgan was a devoted Christian and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had an unwavering faith in God and was a longtime member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church. She led a life full of laughter and hard work. Mrs. Morgan loved her family, friends and animals and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, JD Morgan; parents, AD and Minnie Otinger; sister, Clora Williamson; grandson, Drew Frazier; and great-grandson, Baby Jack Morgan.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her children, Jane (Allen) Frazier, Joe (Becky) Morgan and John (Anita) Morgan; grandchildren, Keri (Brian) Payne, Barry (Sara) Morgan, Jason (Carrie) Morgan, Mellissa (Brent) Harris and Daniel (Kristin) Morgan; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry Morgan, Daniel Morgan, Jason Morgan, Brian Payne, Tommy Crane, Allen Bryan, Don Helms and Allen Champion.
