A memorial service will be held at 6pm Wednesday at Crestwood Funeral Home for Matthew Paul Goddard age 45 who died Wednesday March 27, at U.A.B. Hospital Birmingham.

Matthew served in The Army National Guard during Desert Storm.

He is preceded in death by his father Walter C. Goddard.

He is survived by his mother Mickie Goddard, Gadsden. Sister Jody Maddox Swentner of Owensboro Ky., 3 sons, Blaine(Lauren) Goddard, Josh Goddard and Jordan Goddard all of Gadsden and chosen son Jace Ellis.Grandaughters , Emma and Ella Goddard of Gadsden, niece Keeley Maddox, Owensboro Ky. ,Uncle Rusty Wilson of Lee's Summit Mo. Two special women , Jennifer Chastain and Laurel Austin.

For the past few years Matt was the loving caregiver to his grandmother, the late Walcie Wilson. Matt was an avid sports fan and loved Auburn Football, WAR EAGLE!
All who knew Matt will remember his love for life and his endless ability to make people laugh. His family loved him dearly and will miss his warm and caring spirit always and forever.
