Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, at Crestwood Chapel, for Mrs. Mary Joyce Sauls Parnell ,age 91, of Gadsden, who died Tuesday. Rob Dibble and Kevin Camp will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home announcing.

"Mama Joyce" lived her entire life in North Gadsden. She graduated from Gaston High School as Salutatorian. She spent her whole life serving her God Jehovah and taking care of her children. Her friends from the Kingdom Hall were also her family, she loved you all dearly.

Her house and her property were always open to all visitors. She (reluctantly) enjoyed hundreds of ballgames in the field, wondering which of her many, many sons would be injured next. Recently her happy place was the patio and her sunroom, either studying , reading or watching her neighbors.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Earl Riley Parnell, her son Mark, and her parents Roy and Mary Sauls.

She is survived by six devoted ( to say the least) children and their mates, Rob and Dawn Dibble, Bruce and Becky Parnell, Dana and Laurie Parnell, Keith Parnell, Mikey Parnell(Mark), Kevin and Lynn Camp, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild who all held their own special place in her heart.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Special thanks to Dr. Webb Sledge and his staff, Vicki, Holly and Kim, which we considered part of the family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service.
