Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday at Crestwood Chapel for Ms. Mary "Sissy" Peters age 73 of Gadsden who died Wednesday. Pastors Dan Elkins and Freddie Whitfield will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home Announcing.

Ms. Peters was a 1964 graduate of Emma Sansom High, and spent most of her career as a cook, helping to start Johnsons Deli and later in several Gadsden City School lunchrooms. She loved the kids at school and truly enjoyed her time with them. Her family loved her cooking as well. She loved trade days ,yard sales and antiquing. She was a wonderful sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed.

She is precede in death by parents L.D. and Virginia Elkins, brothers Larry and Billy Ray Elkins and sister Shelia Elkins.

She is survived by Brother Eddie (Sandra) Elkins, Gary(Becky) Elkins and sister and best friend Pamela Ann Elkins, special niece and caregiver Heather(David)  Holderfield and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Walker McCarver, Zac McCarver, David Elkins, David Blackman and David Holderfield.
