Funeral will be at 11 am Monday at Crestwood Funeral Home and Cemetery for Mary Boyce (Thacker) Kell age 88 from Rainbow City who died November 20, 2009. Brother Larry Garrard will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Kell was born to Lovell and Bell Smith. Mary grew up on High Point Road in Albertville, Alabama. She was one of seven children. Mary was a Christian and a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus A. Thacker and Virgl L. Kell. Father Lovell C. Smith, mother Emma Isabell (Harvell) Smith and brothers and sisters. Special friend's Winnie Noles, Clyde Poe and Willie Maltbie.
She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Kay Reeves, Janiet Elaine (Dale) Reed, son, Arnold Clay (Kathy) Thacker, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, special sister in laws Margie Gilbert, Millie (Bob) Pruitt Johnnie Thacker, Maxine Thacker and Faye Thacker. A host of nieces and nephew, step children, Becky McMurtrie, Vita Kell, Glenn Kell, Gary Kell.
Pallbearers will be Derek Reeves, Lance Anderson, Will Downs, Patrick Thacker, Josh Doan, Ethan Doan and Zack Compton.
