Funeral services for Mary G. Gunter will be 11 A.M. Saturday, August 1st, 2015 at Crestwood Chapel with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Gunter was a devoted Servant of Christ for 92 years. All of her life she set a wonderful example of how to be a wife and mother. She was a homemaker who raised not only her 3 children but assisted in raising many other children.

She was a resident of Countryside, Ill., for 40 years before returning home to Glencoe.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Rev. Travis Gunter. She is survived by sons, Travis L. Gunter (Galena), Bobby G. Gunter (Pei Pei); daughter, Cynthia Jensen (James); grandchildren, Tabatha Smith (Keith), Geoffrey Gunter, Kathy Layba, Tonya Guinn, Sherry Uzelac (Dan), Tamara Rickman (Charlie), Jessie Beecher (Saichit), Jamie Jensen, Samantha Gunter; and 14 great-grandchildren (Taylor, Katie, Alicia, Doran, Amber, Heidi, Clay, Michael, Jimmy, Dakota, Stephen, Christian, Stephanie and Keegan) and 2 great-great granddaughters (Lenore and Violet).

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be numerous friends who cared for her.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
