Obituary

Mary Frances Griffith Collins, age 93, of Attalla, Alabama, passed away on April 8, 2026. She was born on November 1, 1932, in Gadsden, Alabama, where she remained a lifelong resident and devoted her life to her family and community.

Mrs. Collins was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who raised seven children and cherished every moment spent with her growing family. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.

She shared 53 years of marriage with her first husband, Stanley Griffith, until his passing in 2003. Together, they built a life centered on hard work and family. As a long-haul truck driver, Mr. Griffith often had Mrs. Collins by his side, and she eventually learned to drive the truck herself, spending several years on the road with him. Later in life, she married Joseph Collins, and they enjoyed 21 years together until his passing in March of this year.

Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husbands, Stanley Griffith and Joseph Collins; her parents, Beulah and Lester Robinson; her sisters, Dean Swindall (David) and Catherine Beach (C.B.); her brothers, Junior Robinson (Eva) and Jimmy Robinson (Catherine); and her grandsons, Jamie Cothran and Nick Dukes.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay Morris (Donnie), Wanda Sciascia (Rick), Patricia Reynolds (Mike), and Terri Palmer (Jody); her sons, Joe Griffith, Donnie Griffith (Meda), and Tommy Griffith; her grandchildren, David Morris, Tony Morris (Karrie), Bridgett McCrory (Tom), Heath Windsor (Karen), Chris Griffith, Jay Griffith (Keely), Milissa Stanfield (John), Heather Reynolds, Jeremy Cothran (Mary), and Rachael Barnes; her great-grandchildren, Isaac Morris, Max McCrory, Elliott, Amelia, and Jackson Windsor, Miller and Addison Griffith, Derek Reynolds, Jay Stanfield (Charley), Alyssa McCormick (Eli), Michael Johnson, Linley, Wes, Will, and Walker Cothran, Anna Dukes, Brody Bissett, Trace and Kooper Barnes; and her great-great-grandchildren, Sawyer Morris, Avery Stanfield, Phoebe and James McCormick.

Funeral services will be held at Crestwood on April 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with Reverend Wayne Griffith officiating. Visitation will be held on the same day from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. for family and from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. for friends. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery in East Gadsden, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Tony Morris, Heath Windsor, Chris Griffith, Jay Griffith, Jeremy Cothran, and Mike Reynolds.

Mrs. Collins will be remembered for her strength, devotion to her family, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
