Obituary

Funeral services will be Friday April 22 at 2pm CDT at Crestwood Funeral Home for Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Quinn Dugger, who died April 17, 2011. The Rev. Charles Christian will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Betty grew up in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Potsville Nursing School in 1946 as part of the U.S. Cadet Nursing Program. She was a Registered Nurse and went to work at Suburban Hospital in Washington DC where she met, at a USO dance, and married the love of her life, Fred Dugger. They made their home in Alabama, first in Birmingham and then Gadsden, where they raised five children. Betty continued to work as an RN at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital until her retirement in 1973. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with Fred involving the Lion's Club. She relocated to Vincennes, Indiana in 2006. Betty loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved working in her garden and with her plants.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Fred Dugger on April; 2, 1989; son James Patrick Dugger on June 20, 2010, parents Dr. Matthew and Elizabeth Quinn, and her brother Matthew Quinn, Florida in 2002. Betty loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children Kathy (Charles) Cleveland, Escondido, CA, John (Kathy) Dugger, Gadsden, AL, Mary (Chuck) Christian, Vincennes, IN, Denise Vosbury, Gadsden, AL; grandchildren: Christopher and Andrew Cleveland, Escondido, CA., Scott Dugger, Birmingham, AL., Jennifer Christian Wilson, Vincennes, TN. Beth Christian (Eddie) Small, Rushville, IN. Katie Christian (Drew) Stein, New Albany, IN. Megan Christian, Bloomington, IN., Melanie Vosbury (Brandon) Ponder Gadsden, AL and Freddie Holt; great-grandchildren Lydia Richey, Vincennes, IN. and Landon Ponder Gadsden, AL.
Visitation will be Thursday April 21, from 6 until 8 pm at Crestwood Funeral Home
