Mary C. Douglas, 87, died Sunday, July 17, 2011. She was married to James Wilson Douglas, her loving husband of 57 years before he passed away 13 years ago.
She is survived by her children: Rod Douglas and wife Betty; Mike Douglas and wife Linda; granddaughters, Jennifer Romershauser and husband Carl; Brooke Nyberg and husband Kel; Jill Hathcock and husband Holt; great grandchildren, Katie and Spencer Romershauser; Bailey and Evan Nyberg; Ella and.Sam Hathcock.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived most of her adult life in Gadsden and was a long time member of East Gadsden Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian and is now reaping the rewards of her faith.
The family would like to thank all of their friends and family who have been thinking of and praying for Mary. A special thanks to the Meadows of Jacksonville and Wetumpka Health and Rehabilitation and their staff for the wonderful care that Mary received.
The funeral will be at Crestwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. and will be a private family service.
