Graveside funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Crestwood Cemetery for Mrs. Mary Ellen Bussey Coffey, 80, of Hokes Bluff, who died Friday March 13, 2015. Special friend Dennis Black will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mary attended Hokes Bluff High School. After she married, they moved to California for a number of years. They returned to Hokes Bluff to be in the trucking business, and owned-operated Ball Play Grocery. Mary retired from Keystone Foods. The most important thing in her life was her family and friends. For those touched by Mary, may her spirit live and be shared.
She is preceded in death by their son, Dennis Coffey; parents, T.C. and Lula Bussey; brothers, Bill, Jimmy and John Bussey; sisters, Frances Blanton, Cleo Adams, Alice Yenour and Betty Jo Blanton.
She is survived by husband of 65 years,James Coffey; children, Debbie (Carl) Helms and Nancy (Lex) Sewell; grandchildren, Mandi (Timmy) Godfrey, Jamie (Michael) Lloyd, Matt and Jesse Hanks, Cassidy Sewell; great-grandchildren, Chad (Emily) Godfrey, Colton (Alex) Godfrey, Dock and Shelby Lloyd and Jace Hanks; great-great-grandchildren, Bryson, Eden and, arriving in May, Carlee Godfrey; sister, Rebecca (Phillip) Cope. Mary had a host of loving nieces and nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Matt and Jesse Hanks; Timmy, Chad and Colton Godfrey; and Michael Lloyd.
