Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 5th, 2016, at Crestwood Chapel for Mary Helen Brown, 75, of Glencoe, who passed away on Saturday, January 2nd, 2016. Rev. David Denson will officiate. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved Alabama Football and loved taking care of her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ray Brown; sisters, Emily Gladden and Elizabeth Guest.
She is survived by her daughters, Scynea (Eric) Batista, Terri (Dennis) Kirkland, and Beth (Glenn) Starr; grandchildren, Jayme (Benjie) Amberson, Paige (Drew) Harris, Sommer Gray, Taylor (Chris) Snyder, Matthew (Kendall) Batista, Kari (Jeffery) Rodgers; a host of great-grandchildren that she loved dearly; and special people in her life, Stella Gattis, Sherry Welch, Leanne Minton, and Beverly Robershaw.
Pallbearers will be Benjie Amberson, Jeffery Rodgers, Chris Snyder, Drew Harris, Chris Sims, and Brandon Hannah.
Special thanks to the staff of MICU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Dr. Steve Sanders, Dr. ArianneBennett; and to Alyson Ramsey for the kindness and compassion she showed to our mom and family.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday evening at Crestwood Funeral Home.
