March 26, 1931 – January 13, 2024
Funeral Service will be 1pm Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Crestwood Chapel for Martha Delaney Sims Mintz, age 92, of Wellington , who passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the hour of service. Bro. Randy Hagan will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Martha was a hard worker and worked in many different vocations. She had worked on an assembly line at the GE plant, and was so fast and efficient her coworkers had to ask her to slow down. She was Co Owner and beauty operator of a Beauty Shop in Alabama City. She also was owner and operator of Martha's Dress Shop and Florist. In addition to that, Martha was owner and operator of Glencoe Printing and a caretaker to her lifelong friends the Mitchells.
When not working, Martha stayed busy in church, lodge, and community organizations. She was a founding member of Brannon Springs Missionary Church, a member of Eastern Star, and involved in All God's Children Collector's Club. She also enjoyed camping, crafts, cooking, and gardening. Most of all she loved time spent with all of her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Mintz; parents Arthur and Edith Sims; and sisters Billie Jo Swindall, Ivaleen Quinn, and Patricia Weinberg.
Left to cherish her memory are, her son and caretaker Anthony Mintz of Wellington; daughter Angela Mintz Barron (Gerome) of Steele; grandchildren Jayden Mintz, Kalee Mintz, Gia Thompson, Cody Barron, and Jordan Barron; sister Lucy Sims Hindsman (Norman); daughters in law Beth Mintz and Linda Rodgers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Doug Walker, Clay Conner, Tommy Norton, Cody Barron, Jordan Barron, Danny Brown, and Mark Eller.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael D. Kelton and Norman Hindman.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Gentiva Hospice of Rainbow City, Gentiva Hospice of Anniston, Centerwell Home Health of Rainbow City, and especially to Mary Jemison for the care and comfort given to their mother.
