A memorial service will be held Sunday April 3,2022, from 2-5 pm, at North East Community Center, for Martha Jones, age 80, of Gadsden who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Lisa Kennedy and Larry Perkins will officiate.

Martha will be remembered first as a devout Christian who loved her Lord. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and playing mahjong. She retired from the Etowah County Courthouse as a chief clerk. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all and will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Margie Harp, son Billy Wayne Morris, grandson Matthew Patterson, and brothers Oscar Harp and Bobby Harp.

She is survived by daughters, Teresa (Randy) Hunter, Beverly Patterson, sons, Kenneth (Shelley) Morris, Rodney Morris, grandchildren Brandi Brewster, Eric Hunter, Jonathon Morris, Justin Morris, Melissa Taylor, Megan Lumpkin, Kristi Usry, Jacob Morris, Nathan Morris, Jason Maxwell, Rayne Williams, and Destiny Derrick, 12 great grandchildren, sisters Dean Battles and Linda Brown, brother James(Barbara) Harp, sister in-law Billie Harp and a large extended family.

The family would like to issue a special thanks to Hope for Hospice and the doctors and staff at UAB.
