Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Crestwood Chapel, for Mr. Marshall Wayne Beaird, age 70, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Reverend Stephen Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral home is announcing.

Wayne was a native of Anniston Alabama, and moved to Gadsden with his family in July of 1961.He was the Salutatorian of his 1968 class. He attended Auburn University from the fall of 1968 till October of 1971 when an illness hampered his studies but he was able to return and earn a degree in general chemistry. He worked at Gadsden Regional Hospital for over 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Marshall and Lucille Beaird.

He is survived by his Sisters: Carolyn Christian, Kathlyn (Ray) Moon, and Henrieta Isbell. Nieces and nephews: Carolyn (Sheridan) Jackson, Chris (Lindy) Christian, Eric (Jennifer) Johnson, Stephen (Heather) Johnson and Kile (Julie) Isbell. Great nieces and nephews: Zoe (Alex), Christian (Madison), Mersades, Cameron, Tyler, Landon, Emma, Spenser, Jacob, Riely and his little dog Princess, who he loved so much.

Special thanks to ABC Hospice his nurse Traci and Brandi and special friends of over 50 years Martin (Linda) Featherson, Eddie (Judy) Christian, and Laull Thompson and Anita McCarver.

Pallbearers will be Ray Moon, Eric Johnson, Eddie Christian, Chris Christian, Sheridan Jackson and Stephen Johnson.

Very special thanks to Michael McCarver for the care he gave to Wayne.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 pm until the time of service.
