Funeral service will be 2pm Friday, October 10, at Crestwood Chapel for Margie Faye Akridge, age 79, Glencoe. Chaplain Fred Dixon will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct service.

Margie Faye Holdbrooks Akridge was called home to be with the Lord and her Mother and Daddy on October 8, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Jewell and Hattie Clara Holdbrooks; brother Buddy Holdbrooks; sister Betty Jones; daughter (stillborn at birth) Debra Faye Akridge; Mother and Father in law Roy P. and Grace Akridge ; and brothers in law Donald and Jimmy Akridge.

She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 60 years, Roy Lee Akridge; daughters Donna Lynne Akridge Cole (David) and Susan Akridge (Beth Mysti); grandchildren Deborah Holderfield (Wayne), and Jason Lumpkin; great grandchildren Aubrie Holderfield and Joshua Lumpkin; In Laws Ricky Akridge, Rhunette Holdbrooks, and Charlotte Kilpatrick; special friends and all the friends of Over the Hill Car Club and Gadsden Street Rods.

Faye was a lifelong resident of Glencoe, AL, member of North Glencoe Baptist Church and a child of God.
Mother will be greatly missed by her husband and daughters, family and friends. We all know she is in a better place and that we all will see her again one day. We love you and miss you. The heavens are rejoicing today because another child of God has entered Heaven's Gate today.

The family appreciates all kindness that has been extended, but has requested no food.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home. The family has requested casual dress for the visitation and service.
