Margaret Hunter Smith passed away peacefully to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011. Cremation services provided by Crestwood. She was born Nov. 20, 1921, to the late Harper J. and Eunice Tidmore Hunter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Yancey Smith; and is survived by a daughter, Hunter Holcomb (Frank) Southside; and grandson, Daniel Holcomb, Houghton, Mich.; sisters, Jo Ann Del Re, Sandra Buckland, Jackie Worley; and brother, Charles Hunter of Panama City Beach, Fla. Margaret loved her family first and always. She also loved playing golf with her friends at Goodyear Golf Course for many years. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to your favorite charity . Special thanks to Claudia Moore and her staff: Michelle, Amanda, Samantha, Leslie, Susan, Arnetta, Christie and Melissa; and Dr. Frannie Koe of Collinsville. A memorial celebration is being planned and will be announced later.
