Graveside services for Margaret Garrett, age 93, of Gadsden, who passed away on October 30, 2018, will be at Crestwood Funeral Home on Saturday November 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Bobby Lee Morgan will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Mrs. Garrett was the president of the Alabama Hairdressers and Cosmetologist Association and was a member of the State Board of Cosmetology and the Gadsden Womens Club. She was also awarded the state of Alabama Community Service Award. She was a member of the Alabama Business Woman Association and she, along with state congressional leaders, established the professional cosmetology laws for the state of Alabama. Mrs. Garrett was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, and she loved the Lord with all of her heart.

She is survived by her son; Gary Drexell(Carol) Garrett, grandson; Shawn(Sina) Garrett, granddaughter; Michelle Turner, great-grandchildren; Trey, Jordan, Aiden, and Autumn, brother; Bobby(Martha) Morgan, sister; Dorothy(James) Buford, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Drexell Garrett, and her parents; Duffy and Amber Morgan.

Pallbearers will be friends and nephews.

Family will receive friends starting at 11:30 until time of service.
