Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022 at Crestwood Chapel for Maggie Lokey Bishop, age 98, of Glencoe. Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mrs. Bishop went to join her husband of 54 years, Reuben, in Heaven on December 2, 2022. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Theresa Bishop Thompson and great granddaughter Camille Hanna.
She is survived by her children Alice Goss, Samuel ( Melissa) Bishop, Anita Landers, and Tina Chunn; grandchildren Andrea (Gene) Wingo, Amanda (Andy) Houston, Alex (Alison)Thompson, Miranda (Nick) Hanna, Mallory (Derek) Martin, Jeremy Landers, Tiffany (Brian) Smith, and Holly Chunn; great grandchildren Addyson Wingo, Jessica (Jarod) Kehl, Annaleigh Wingo, Madyson Houston, Abbygail Houston, Aubrey Thompson, Amelia Thompson, Sam Hanna, Bryce Hanna, Cooper Hanna, Gavin Martin, Nora Martin, Meagan Landers, Gabriel Landers, Matthew Landers, Sarah Landers, Grace Smith, Gunner Smith, Tucker Smith, Garrett Chunn; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Bishop was the oldest living member of Glencoe First Baptist Church and had been a member for over 70 years. She had served in many capacities at her church including church hostess. She had retired from Belks as a sales clerk, but always found a way to be involved with all of her children's activities. She was a wonderful homemaker that cooked, crocheted, gardened and loved growing flowers, especially her Irises. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Christian.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD, 20852 or to your favorite charity.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Enhabit Hospice.
