Funeral service will be at 2pm Saturday for Mable "June" Nickels, age 86, of Gadsden, who went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 15, 2012. Revs Daniel Barkley and Matt Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mrs. Nickels is a member of the Gadsden Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Junious Oscar and Zadie Viola Lancaster, brothers Robert Lancaster and J. T. Lancaster, and sister Dot Dorough. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lucius "Nick" Nickels; sons Ronald Nickels and Randy Nickels; daughter Judy Nickels; grandson Cory Nickels; sister Mary Ann Elliott; brother Richard (Sarah) Lancaster; brother in law Tommy (Pat) Nickels; sister in law Betty Akers; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to recognize the following special friends: Bill and Maxine Smith, Paul Campbell, Hershel "Butch" Tanner, and Paulette Self.
Pallbearers will be Lanny Lancaster, Alan "Smokey" Lancaster, Jimmy Elliott, Chris Bobo, David Smith, and Larry Akers.
Special thanks to the Amedisys Team including Kim Kelly, Matt Rose, Cindy Parker, Katie Hougland, and RyAnne Gilliland; Doctors Warren, Cross, and Junkins; all employees at CVS East Gadsden Location. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jan Hooks for all her love, support, and professionalism during this trying time.
