King, Lucille "Big Mama"
Funeral service will be at 2PM Today at Faith Worship Center Church of God In Glencoe,AL for Lucille "Big Mama" King who went to be home with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday February 15, 2008 at the age of 93. Brother Mark Gidley will officiate. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Park . Crestwood Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. King lived most of her life in Etowah County. She never met a stranger and loved everybody and was loved by all who knew her. She loved her church and was one of two remaining charter members. She was very active in her church community and was famous for her special coconut cakes. The one thing she stressed the most was that everybody live right.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Jean Waites, three grandchildren Keith (Karen) Waites of Gadsden, Terri Vinyard of Glencoe, and Paula (Jessie) Serrato of Abilene, TX; Eight great grandchildren Kayla Waites, Chris (Debra) Steward, Billy (Elizabeth) Steward, Catie Vinyard, Lt. Cpl. Carl Brewer, Kristi, Toney, and Cody Foster, five great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Vinyard, Mary McClellan, Pauline Pruitt, and Bob and Millie Stevens.
Special appreciation to all of her care givers and the staff of Gadsden Health Care for their care and attention.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the Faith Worship Center Church of God Building Fund.
The family will receive friends at Faith Worship Center Church of God today from noon until the hour of service.
